Occlusion One

Over two full days, Dr Giblin takes you step by step through occlusion from first principles. You'll build understanding that directly supports better restorative decisions and long term outcomes in practice.

Across the two days, you will work through:

  • How occlusion really works, explained through anatomy and biomechanics
  • How jaw movement, tooth contact, and force distribution interact
  • Why occlusion influences wear, comfort, restoration failure, and longevity
  • How common occlusal problems develop over time
  • Clear methods to assess occlusion in everyday patients
  • How to integrate occlusal thinking into restorative planning with confidence

This isn't a rule based or shortcut driven course. The focus is understanding. You learn how to think about occlusion, not memorise protocols.

Occlusion Two

This is the direct follow on to Occlusion One. Understanding becomes control, delivered in a small, focused setting with close guidance from Dr Tom Giblin.

You will:

  • Apply occlusal principles through intensive hands on articulator work
  • Learn how force, contact, and design decisions affect long term outcomes
  • Reduce adjustments, remakes, and restorative failure
  • Build confidence managing more complex restorative cases
  • Sharpen clinical judgement that transfers straight to daily practice

Where and how to get there

Held at Sydney Dental Academy's new facilities in Frenchs Forest. Plenty of parking on site, easy to get to from anywhere on the Northern Beaches. If you're travelling in, Manly and Terrey Hills both have great accommodation nearby, or stay in the city, just 25 minutes away.
