Welcome to Sydney Dental Academy.

This is our very first vlog, and we are genuinely excited to be launching this with you.

You will start seeing more of these videos regularly. Short updates. Real conversations. A look behind the scenes at what we are building here and why.

Right now on the site, we have six courses and six live events available. These are taught by Dr Tom Giblin, along with visiting educators, including Prof Axel Spahr. Take a look. They are all live and open.

We are based here at Sydney Dental Academy in Frenchs Forest, right in the heart of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This is a purpose built teaching space, right next door to The Centre for Implant and Restorative Dentistry Dr Tom Giblin’s own clinical practice . From the rooftop, you can see across the city. It is a great place to learn, think, and spend time with peers.

What really matters to us though is not the building. It is the education.

Dentistry changes fast. University gives you the foundation, then real learning happens in practice. What we are focused on here is depth. Better thinking. Better judgement. Clearer planning.

We want to expose dentists to how experienced clinicians actually think. How they diagnose. How they make decisions. How they avoid problems before they start.

That is why we are bringing leading educators from Australia and overseas to teach here. Our first international guest is Dr Bill Robbins, author of Global Diagnosis. He will be here on March 20 and 21. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from someone who has spent decades practicing & mentoring dentists around the world.

This academy is driven by Dr Tom Giblin’s passion for education. He cares deeply about mentoring younger dentists and supporting experienced clinicians who want to see things differently. He has trained with some of the best dentists globally, and his goal is to bring that thinking back here, in a practical and honest way.

Dentistry runs deep in Tom’s family. His father, Dr John Giblin, was also a respected dentist. That legacy matters. This academy is about raising standards and sharing knowledge properly.

Our aim is simple. To improve dental education in Australia, and to bring the world to this academy so you can learn right here.
